Tango streamed for several hours on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (with almost 20k viewers on Saturday.) For some reason he is surprised how popular the game is?, it has been played over a hundred times already. And no wonder, it's fantastic. I've been having so much fun watching everyone.

It's week one of ten so the Hermits have only just started exploring the dungeon and building their decks, I'm sure it's only going to get more exciting! Some favorite moments so far included Tango dying to a berry bush in practice, Scar hearing a "Stumble" card and saying "Hey I did not stumble, I am fully capable of walking - just kidding," Tango despairing while Scar struggled with the compass, the door closing right in Etho's face and Etho blaming Tango, and Doc getting stuck in the frost ember dispenser hole. I also love the daycare waiting room the Hermits built.

I have watched, uh, more of Tango's weekend streams than I was expecting or planning to, let's just say that. (I watched about the last third/half of both of them live and now I'm catching up.) My favorite bit so far is Bdubs saying "I am a king!" and then immediately screaming as a Ravager comes up behind him. Also every single time Tango dies.

I'm at the point in the Saturday stream where they're really getting going on the waiting room and it's neat to see it slowly appear from Tango's POV!

Etho and Cub are both good bets to win but I suspect there's going to be a spoiler who nobody suspects!

Same. The reason why I have not finished my Tango stream binge yet is because I was distracted by Impulse streaming DO. (I have not even started on the 12 (!) hours of Bdubs Limited Life PoV yet. Not ideal timing.)

Yes that was a great moment too :D

I was worried at first that people had too high expectations of Etho - as was Tango - but he did so well. So did Hypno. I think at this point all it takes is one successful run at higher difficulty with a lucky high value artifact and a lucky roll in the ember shop to get a big advantage, and I look forward to later weeks when people get enough embers to strategize with their decks more.

I think honestly anything Etho did would have been living up to expectations - either he did well (like he did) or he did poorly (washed up! :D) and either way it would have been entertaining. But he so clearly still had all his reflexes from the first game! Also unlike some people he knows how to use a compass and can follow instructions, which gave him a massive advantage. (I did also watch the Etho Decked Out 1 supercut on youtube in preparation for this, and it was neat to see how completely comfortable he was in the dungeon by the end of it, and compare that to how people were in the brand new one.)

I really want to see Tango do a run for real. (I know it wouldn't be fair at this point since he knows the dungeon but I still want to see!)

Hypno, who iirc came second in the first DO, is also doing very well in DO2 so the skills clearly carry over a lot. (Hypno also got an extra five shards so that will surely help.)

I would be so curious how well Tango does in a real run because he knows the dungeon so well, just for fun. I didn't watch most of his test runs, I only saw the berry bush clip, but chat comments seemed to imply that he didn't do so well in most runs.

I watched a few of them in earlier streams! He dies a lot. But I don't think I've ever seen him run it just to run it - he's always testing something, so he's paying more attention to whether everything is working properly and how to fix it than where the ravagers are or if he's close to max clank.

I don't think he'd be Etho level - at least once Etho learns the dungeon well (which will be in like, two days) but I don't think the test runs are fair (of course I also don't know if he'd be able to turn off his testing brain enough to run it that way!) I think he'd do better than he thinks he would, like when he won the parkour crown.

He did a few runs yesterday, I watched some and it was very interesting how different it felt to watch someone who clearly knew where everything was and how everything works. But it's only week one, I'm sure several of the Hermits will get there soon enough! Though it will take a little time for each new level. (Four levels. Tango is a madman.)

Etho did another run on Tango's stream yesterday and his runs are my favorites. So tense! I can barely wait for the Hermits to make it down to the Warden levels, my poor nerves...

I am now caught up on Tango decked out streams! Amazing! (Now I just have all the videos to catch up on...) Tango did another run yesterday and it was great.

Etho's runs on Tango's streams are definitely my favorite so far(especially his last one) but then Tango anything is pretty great! His last one was hilarious. And it's interesting from both him and the streams you get the impression that he's doing OK but not great and Hypno is way ahead but that is Not So, by every metric *other* than the ones Tango is counting he's way way ahead.

Etho's last run was amazing xD It took him so long to realize, even with all the hints!

Hypno is far ahead in dungeon knowledge though, especially because I would be surprised if Etho watched many runs by other Hermits (unlike some others.) Hypno's strategy so far is high risk/high reward, and it may start paying off.
Luck plays a large role so I think it won't be until week three or so that we can better evaluate who is doing how well. I'm very happy for Scar that he won phase one!

I'm so glad that Etho is doing most of his runs while Tango is streaming, they're very exciting and/or hilarious (especially his last one yesterday, for ~reasons: starting around here.) I hope he'll include his own perspective in videos too.
