New Life series!

Anybody else excited about the new Life series coming this weekend? I don't know how I'll have time to watch ( U_U ) but I'm looking forward to it.

Tumblr has been making bingo cards for the new season and I think I will try to play, although it's a little risky making a card before we know who's playing or what the rules are!

I'm so excited!! (And sad I'll have to wait until tomorrow to watch because of RL.)

I can't even decide who I want to team up, there are so many great options. That's a very good bingo card with many very plausible squares. (Though I heard it's uncertain if Ren will be in it, would be sad if not.) I'm especially curious if people will try to bargain with/for shards ^^ Those Hermits, going from one death game straight to another.

I am already so behind on watching and between this and MCC I don't know what I will do.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of rumors about who will and won't be in (even Joe has been dropping trollish hints though that seems very unlikely). I figure there's a reasonable chance Martyn will manage to be not normal about it even if Ren doesn't play, though!

I don't think it's super likely the shards thing will happen because they do seem to try to keep Life stand-alone, mostly, but it's on there because it would be *very* funny if it did!

Joe posted that a new episode will come out Sunday, apparently featuring Etho, and he also made masks of False, Xisuma, and Iskall (and maybe more, I didn't watch the entire stream) so I assume those have teamed up for something else, very excited for that too. Though, yeah, no idea how to watch all that with limited time.

They try to keep Life stand-alone, but will all of them be able to resist temptation? ^^ Tango has been very strict with not awarding extra shards so far but he's also been really unlucky in the Life games and if, say, Gem threatens to kill him and he knows exactly how to bribe her... (Realistically I don't think it will happen but I also really want the fic where Tango has to persuade Decked Out to let him leave and then sometimes during the Life game his eyes and hair flicker blue and ice freezes around him.)

I think it's more likely someone will have Tango at bay and offer to let him go for shards... but with the secret tasks who knows??

I wasn't expecting the lore either. Countdown to somebody deciding the Secret Keeper is in cahoots with the Dungeon. (Actually I'm kind of surprised I haven't see the Dungeon worked into Watcher lore much yet at all.)

Ooh, there could be a fun secret task somewhere in there. "Make Tango use the Dungeon Master voice" and more.

I too am surprised I haven't seen fic with both the Watchers and the Dungeon! And apparently there are gods of the Vaults, those too could play into that, especially since Etho, Impulse, and most likely Bdubs are currently in both series, and Ren used to be in the Life series but is currently only in VH.

If you just ally and betray and murder each other enough in games, is this what happens? ...actually, given my live action gaming experience, I think the answer is yes.

Though honestly I tried to stay away from romantic shipping when I first got into this fandom because it isn't really my main thing and it always gets weird when it's RPF-adjacent, and then they immediately all wrote themselves into a soulmate AU. On purpose, eyes open. Like. What are we supposed to do when they're all like that. We're one episode in, Bdubs and Etho are boyfriends, Scott has four exes, Cleo got remarried to *her* ex, Scott tried to break up Jimmy and Scar (who then promptly shacked each other off, so I am kind of worried the canon event is still going to happen) and Tango and Skizz are shopping around for a third to move in with them on Love Island???

That's just the things that they said outright in episodes! And I'm not even counting the love poetry

Episode one and you can already cross out several of these xD and that is just from the videos I have already watched.

Yeah I think I can cross off two or three of them just from fanart spoilers on Tumblr without even having watched any yet. *facepalm* I may have made this too easy

To be fair, several others seem less likely than I would have expected before watching the first episode, so maybe it evens out? It was a good attempt either way ^^

I have now watched all of Week 1 and have five crossed out now with pretty good placement! Though the center really was a free space. And I've been promised arson first thing next week. So I think my odds are pretty good.

I have no idea how to mark the "not being normal" ones, though, because *nobody* was being normal in that ep. I gave it to Bdubs and Etho anyway because.... what was that entire interaction. Grian and Scar probably deserve it too but I will give them another episode to get worse (I clearly should have had "Cleo and Etho aren't normal about each other" on there too though, wow. They tried to tell their stream the other day to calm down and be normal about them and Etho. Ma'am.)

The odds that Grian and Scar will get worse are very good, and that's after Scar called Grian his light. Etho and Bdubs will also probably get worse. But those two pairings I expected tbh, Etho telling Joel that Joel owns his heart was more of a surprise.

Cleo thinks that because they do not see Etho as a MCYT legend the way so many others do, that means they are normal about Etho. But, uh... Etho is a silly little guy but he's their silly little guy. They're on the same wavelength and it's beautiful.
