Season 7: Scar and Etho highlights

hermitcraftI recently watched Scar's and Etho's Hermitcraft season 7 episodes and made some notes about my favorite things.
Some favorite s7 moments:
- Scar & Grian going darkside: Darth Grian and ScarVader
- Scar calling upon the first HEP agents, and later recruiting the wolf agents. Excellent problem-solving, Mr Mayor.
- HEP finding the secret Resistance base: what timing!
- the Resistance legally buying the diamond throne
- HEP trapping the Resistance and the negotiations
- Shade-E-E's first Free Glass delivery (Etho's episode 13, reaction compilation)
- Noteblock Dragostea Din Tei during explosions (Numa Numa Boom)
- First Mycelium Resistance meeting: "It's about the principle!! And about sending Scar a message!"
Other favorite things:
- That both Grian and Mumbo ended up voting for Scar for Mayor in the end because they thought he would make a good mayor, and were looking forward to him making the shopping district look better. Which he did! Unfortunately Grian can never resist a joke…
- Etho at first being uncertain about being a member of the Resistance, until Grian appoints him Head of Shenanigans which immediately secures his loyalty.
- Everything about Scar & Bdubs, especially each of them getting shot down "friends"-"colleagues" by the other once, Scar explicitly asking for Bdubs' loyalty, Bdubs being jealous of Cub, Bdubs threatening to sell the Greenhouse because Scar didn't restock it, and the Aqua town ~rivalry
- Every time Scar flew down the drilled hole into the nether it looked cool
- So many cool minigames! Not only during the turf war but all the time, especially from Etho's PoV since he was also involved in building many of them, often together with Tango. I particularly liked the stat poker game they made. And Decked Out, of course, so impressive. (DO 2 has four levels – Tango what the hell.) Shame that Hurtin Hermits never got played.
- All of Etho's noteblock music. He built and shows off What is Love and Tetris on Hermitcraft, but all the music he uses in the episodes is so cool. This is why Etho is the copy ninja, he can copy music into Minecraft ^^ (Sadly he stopped doing that in later seasons, in a comment on a s8 episode he said it was partially because of copyright claims he got.)
- Everyone making fun of Grian not finishing the back of his mansion, so he made and won a wager with Scar over the turf war (totally a spontaneous idea and not planned in advance, yep yep), so technically Scar should have finished the back of the mansion ^^
Favorite builds:
- Etho's monstrosity. Who needs an outside anyway! If you just build each room you need you're much more flexible, and it's practical instead of having giant empty insides, I love that. And I love how it is full of color, he pulls off all these unexpected block combinations so well.
- ScarX with the netherfish arising. I was neutral on the project at first, apart from finding it hilarious that Scar definitely deliberately constantly talked about the Big Dig, but with the netherfish it looks really cool.
- Aqu(e)a Town. It came together so well.
(Bonus: my favorite moment from season 8 was Scar showing AFK Grian the world (Scar, Grian.))

Date: 2023-07-11 01:37 pm (UTC)I still absolutely love False, Keralis and Tango's S7 bases. Keralis' base just blew my mind when I first saw it as a new fan.

Date: 2023-07-11 07:48 pm (UTC)The "problem" with Etho's base is that now every time I watch only the outside of a base being built they seem even more blatantly hollow to me ^^ The contrast with Aqua town is especially funny, but of course Aqua town is great in its own way. I also like Etho's s9 base a lot with its colors and alien theme.
I couldn't quite imagine what Decked Out would look like before watching Etho play the original and now I'm even more excited. Though DO2 seems quite a bit more complicated!

Date: 2023-07-13 08:43 pm (UTC)Other favourite moments were the zedango streams where Zedaph helped Tango with Decked Out preparations and testing, I laughed so much. Also the upgraded Nether bingo, and Joe building the Ever Given blocking the Strait of Joebraltar and actually making other Hermits do a detour.
I have too many favourite builds to mention, but for the absolute feelgood vibes I love watching HBobmb's reaction to Grian's base tour - it's pure WAFF (warm and fuzzy feelings).
