Who's weirdest?
Mar. 18th, 2024 04:10 pmWho wants to play the "who has the weirdest gaming setup" game? :D
I don't think I'm that weird for a casual player, I play on a cheap old laptop, usually lying down with the laptop tilted up on my thighs, using the touchpad (I've tried playing with a mouse and it's just not right). I also play with all the sound muted and subtitles on. And also the laptop's video card is failing so I'm constantly getting weird video glitches. (I also play in Peaceful with a personal custom data pack because the laptop's so old that you die constantly to lag if there are lots of hostile mobs around. And I usually have a Hermitcraft episode or stream either on the TV via an HDMI cord or in a small window in the corner.)
I was going to say no weird key rebinds or anything, except that I literally can never remember if I have Sprint on toggle or not so I just don't ever sprint except when I need a long jump, and that probably counts.
Also I have tried the Etho setup and it's so comfortable? If I ever actually set up my desk I will probably use it
If I get enough responses we can do a 'who's the weirdest' poll!

That just does not seem convenient at all. Same category as thumb-shifting. The weirdest thing about Etho's set-up imo was that on a stream he mentioned his desk is almost at shoulder height, but it doesn't look strange from the picture at least? Maybe he was exaggerating.

The photo made me even more confused tbh, I though I had it figured out but now I don't even know how he reaches WASD around the kleenex box.
I've seen people on Tumblr point out that I for inventory is common in a lot of other games (presumably ones where you spend less time in inventory) so I think it sort of makes sense the same way that Impulse and Skizz's do, if you're very used to I=Inventory it might be worth not having to retrain? Minecraft is really the first game I've played where I used the inventory. (I've used a few others that theoretically had inventory but you could mostly just rely on keeping a few things on the hotbar.)

Date: 2024-03-18 10:11 pm (UTC)i=inventory makes sense if you play with two hands on the keyboard instead of keyboard+mouse, but for Minecraft? Maye False opens her inventory not as often as I do but I think I would find it very annoying.
