It's a new month, and a new opportunity to discover your next favourite Hermitcraft fanwork!

Welcome to the first monthly rec post, a place for you to spread your love for that one fic, that special piece of art, or even that creator you just can't get enough of! To kickstart your inspiration there's a specific prompt every time, but you can rec whatever you want regardless. You can also use the prompt to make something new, and share it here.

For this one I'll share the fic that first got me into the Hermitcraft fandom (and, by extension, into tumblr): The Red Sun Never Sets by
ThaneZain. It's a bit heavy, so heed the warnings!

And if you like that one you may like the unofficial AU version featuring Evil Xisuma by residentevilxisuma, Make Me Hurt, Make Me Bleed. This one's even heavier, but has such an awesome emotional weight to it that it's worth the suffering - to me, at least. This one's not finished, so keep that in mind.

Another fic that really made an impact on me at the time is The Weight of Lies by BastardBin. It's not finished, but well worth the read anyway if you like hurt/comfort, angels and demons, and Grian/Mumbo.

My last rec is a fanvid not about the beginning of Ren and False's participation in the Minecraft Championships, but rather about the beginning of the period where the Hermits were seen as something more than joke participants - and also about one of the most enduring MCC teams ever, the MCC 9 Blue Bats. remember the name by genesis frog is on youtube and also on AO3 if you want to give them some well-deserved kudos.

Oh my gods The Weight of Lies changed my life and even though it isn't finished I will sing my praise of it till the end of time. It's strange to remember I was following it when it was still being updated regularly. I miss it.
I have not read the other ones but I'm curious!

I have to admit, I haven't read that many Hermitcraft fics. That being said I do have a fic rec for today! Covet is a very interesting fic where you're basically following Hermitcraft Season 8 but... Grian isn't there or is he? and there's definitely an eldritch monster in the Boatem hole. It has some horror elements but it isn't too scary. I'd say it's a bit sad actually . It's still ongoing! You can find the author on Tumblr too.

Animatics though? I can definitely help you in that department. I'll start by recommending one of my all time favourites: The Button by introverted _ppl. Still one of my favourite art styles!

I'm also gonna share some fanart I absolutely love in the form of Hermitcraft Tarot Cards by jmaxart098 on Tumblr. I believe this is their first art post on Tumblr too as they have joined with the recent Twitter migration.
